Carlton, Corfu and Batavia picked for small-town revitalization initiative

The Town of Carlton, Village of Corfu, and City of Batavia are bringing the Community Heart & Soul model to Western New York as part of a resident-driven initiative focused on small-town revitalization and community engagement. Through the two-year process, residents will work together to identify shared values, strengthen community connections, and create action plans that support local identity, economic opportunity, and long-term sustainability. Supported by regional foundations and local volunteers, the initiative highlights how Community Heart & Soul helps rural communities build a stronger future by empowering residents to shape decisions, preserve local character, and turn community ideas into meaningful action.
